Commissaries selling reusable, disposable protective masks

Commissaries worldwide are now selling reusable and disposable protective masks, the Defense Commissary Agency’s (DeCA) director of sales announced. Two brands of masks, one reusable and the other disposable, became available to most stores worldwide in late June.

Commissaries, AAFES partner to sell each other’s gift cards

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) began selling their respective gift cards in both commissaries and exchanges on June 22. Commissaries will now have reciprocal agreements with AAFES and the Navy Exchange Command (NEXCOM) for gift card sales. DeCA began their partnership with the Navy in May 2018. Both organizations’ gift cards are open value: AAFES cards sold in commissaries are available in denominations from $5 to $1,500, and commissary cards sold in exchanges are available in amounts from $5 to $300. Authorized customers must still redeem the gift cards at their respective store or online.

Gift Cards are available online and at all commissaries worldwide – on a rack at full service, front-end registers.

The beauty of commissary gift cards is that anyone - military or civilian - can order them online and have them shipped anywhere in the U.S. or to APO, FPO or DPO addresses outside the U.S. Or they can be bought in any commissary. Learn more about commissary Gift Cards.

Guest Rules

We are pleased to inform that patron visitors are currently allowed entrance into the commissary.  Welcome.

In an effort to continue to slow the spread of the Coronavirus and protect the workforce at Arnold AFB, the installation Commander, Col. Jeffrey Geraghty has determined that all Base Exchange and Commissary patrons will be required to wear a face covering while shopping in either facility.  The layout of the stores make it difficult to maintain a six-foot distance, so to comply with installation and DOD guidelines, face coverings will be a pre-condition for entry to these facilities.

Remember these COVID 19 sanitation basics:

* Wipe it down. For cash registers in our stores, keep sanitizing wipes handy to wipe down the checkout area frequently in case someone’s droplets landed on it. Also, keep hand sanitizer nearby to use throughout the day.

* If you’re sick, stay home. From a public health standpoint employees who are sick with any kind of respiratory illness, even if it’s just a cold, should not be at work.

* Masks for employees. All employees and patrons are required to wear face coverings in DeCA facilities as recommended by the CDC. It is important to remember that masks are not intended to protect the person wearing the mask, but those around them. Your mask protects your coworkers and customers, and your coworkers’ and customers’ masks protect you.

These are just a few of the fundamentals that will help slow the spread of the disease, so hospitals remain able to cope with new COVID cases, as well as attend to the other health emergencies they handle routinely.
